Approach to New York State Speeding Ticket for Ontario Driver?

I'm not sure how well this works in general in NYC, but sometimes walking in and pleading guilty to the lesser speeding ticket works. Here in CA it's worked for me and other people. Contest the ticket, then when you show up to court ask for a reduction to the 20-24 mph over the speed limit ticket as opposed to the 25+ over one. Might save you a point o your license, and maybe $75 or so along the way. Every little bit helps.
